I have been practicing mental health counseling for 10 years in the Burien area and I am passionate about seeing people's hearts change through the word and truth of the gospel. One of the areas of counseling I love working in is around relationships and family dynamics. I believe relationships are critical to our functioning and when there is a deficit in our relational lives, it can result in anxiety or depression.
I am a Christian and as such, my faith in Christ does inform how I see mental health issues. I believe that true healing comes from the person and work of Jesus Christ. Jesus invites us in Matthew 11:28-30
"Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”
It is the grace of God that he allows us to understand our own psyche through psychology and counseling and it we are invited by Christ to cast all our burdens and worries on him. My goals are to walk with you and hear your story. To understand your specific pain and show that Christ is very much relevant to your financial problems, your marital dysfunction, your pornography addiction, your substance dependence, the abuse you incurred as a young child, the neglect you feel from family and friends, your selfishness, bitterness, resentment and pride. Biblical counseling offers much more than just behavior modification, with short-term solutions; it offers an opportunity to be known in vertical relationship with Lord God King Jesus. And that is healing.

FEES
FIRST SESSION First sessions are 55-60 minutes in duration that includes signing forms for Authorization to Treat, counselors Disclosure Statement that includes info on office policies and client rights and new client form. Additionally, I will conduct a clinical interview to get a better understanding of which direction the counseling sessions should head therapeutically. If you wish to use your insurance, please review the list of insurance companies and plans I accept and bring your insurance card with you to your first session. Individuals that are out of network or no insurance available can discuss payment plans and pricing at the time of service. Cash, check, credit card, HSA and FSA cards are accepted forms of payment. |

IN NETWORK Regence BlueShield Kaiser PPO & HMO Premera First Choice Health Blue Cross Blue Shield LifeWise Please bring your insurance card to your first session. You may need to contact your insurance company for pre-approval before you can start counseling. To better understand your benefits, please contact your insurance providers customer service line for an explanation of your benefits. I contract with a medical biller who will submit your claims on a weekly basis. OUT-OF-NETWORK Most insurance plans have mental health benefits for out-of-network providers. I can work with you to understand what your insurance benefits cover. You will pay me up front for session. I then provide you a receipt at the beginning of the session for you to submit to your insurance company for reimbursement. |
COMMUNICATION POLICY
If you have questions about your mental health treatment I encourage you to call . We can discuss your concerns and ask questions in your scheduled counseling appointment. As your counselor, I will only respond to text messages that are about appointments and scheduling. Email and Text are not secure forms of communication, as others could possibly view confidential mental health information. CANCELLATION AND MISSED APPOINTMENT POLICY I require 24 hours notice if you need to cancel or reschedule your counseling appointment.
